Motion Analysis Testing

3D Motion Analysis

Bio MotionOne of the largest facilities of its kind in the United States, the motion analysis and biomechanics facility features an 11 camera, 3 dimensional infrared digital camera system. The same technology has been used extensively by Electronic Arts Video Game design company and major Hollywood motion picture studios. The system allows our researchers and analysts the ability to examine the biomechanics of our clients movements at an astonishing 500 images per second. This data is then compiled and placed in a data repository of athletes to determine the most optimal biomechanics positioning for avoiding injury and improving human performance.

We encourage you to read more about our package and individual service offerings for golf, running, and baseball.

3D Golf Analysis

Smash Factor/Pathfinder Evaluation - ($75)

How efficiently am I striking the ball? What about the pros! Distance and Ball speed are directly related. A Smash factor evaluation is a quick test that measures how fast you swing the club and with what efficiency you transfer the speed into the ball. Tiger's Smash factor is about 1.75! What is yours?

An adjunct to the Smash factor evaluation, the Pathfinder evaluation measures club head speed, ball speed, launch angle and other factors which determine how far and how straight you hit the ball.

Medical Screening - ($75)

Our Sports Medicine physicians will screen potential participants and ensure they are suitable to participate in our programs. This screening may include EKGs and stress tests. Any participant may choose to have this screening.

High Speed 3D Motion Analysis - ($450)

Every thing in sports happens quicker than the eye can see. We use an 11 camera, high speed, 3D motion-capture system to scientifically evaluate the bio-mechanics of the athletes' swing. The results are analyzed and used to enhance overall muscular fitness, reduce the possibility of golf related injuries and improve in game performance.

What does this all mean? Our High Speed 3D Motion Analysis programs yield very complex reports. One of our Biomedical Engineers will spend time with you to explain the reports in terms that everyone can understand.

Biomechanical Training. - ($50)

We are not Golf Pros. But we know some. We can communicate with your current Pro or put you in touch with one of our affiliated pros. We will communicate the results of the High Speed Motion Analysis and Physical Assessment to them, which will help them to improve your swing and your game.

For more information, please contact the UF Sports Performance Center at (352) 273-7004 or e-mail sportsperformance@ortho.ufl.edu.
