Tim Day, MBA, B.App.Sci (Physiotherapy), B.Eng (Civil)(Honours)

Tim has over 15 years of experience in sports performance and physical therapy. He worked with Australian Olympic track and field athletes and Australian Rules Football players prior to spending four years with the Los Angeles Dodgers as a physical therapist and strength and conditioning coach. Tim also played professional baseball for 12 years.


Christopher M. Janelle Ph.D.
Associate Professor and Director,
Performance Psychology Laboratory
Department of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology

Dr. Janelle completed his doctoral training in sport and exercise psychology at the University of Florida. His research interests focus on the interactive nature of emotion and movement as related to human performance and health issues. He has published over 50 scientific articles and book chapters, and coauthored the Handbook of Sport Psychology. Dr. Janelle was awarded the 2002 Dorothy Harris Memorial award for early career excellence by the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology. He reviews papers for the leading journals in the field and sits on four editorial boards, including the Journal of Sport & Exercise Psychology and the International Review of Sport and Exercise Psychology. Dr. Janelle has worked extensively as a sport psychology consultant with collegiate, Olympic, professional, and youth sport athletes.


Derek T. Y. Mann Ph.D.

Dr. Mann is a Sport Psychology Consultant, Lecturer, and Researcher at the University of Florida. As an instructor, he teaches classes in sport psychology and motor learning. His research interests are in the area of emotion and attention and the development of perceptual cognitive expertise. Derek’s research has been published in The Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology, The Sport Psychologist, and Journal of Human Movement Studies and has been presented at leading national and international conferences. As a sport psychology consultant, he works with coaches and athletes on the psychological aspects of performance excellence. Derek has melded cutting-edge research with over 7 years of consulting experience to develop and successfully implement effective performance enhancement programs with clients ranging from elite, national level and collegiate competitors to recreational sports enthusiasts from a variety of disciplines.


Noelle Fuller, MS Exercise Physiologist

Noelle Fuller is a graduate of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, with a BS in Exercise Science and Athletics and received a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology. While attending college Noelle was a four year member of the Bloomsburg University field hockey team, where she helped lead her team to three National Championships. She was active in telemedicine research which focused on weight loss and lifestyle changes for patients at risk for cardiovascular disease. Throughout college Noelle was also employed at the Bloomsburg Area YMCA where she ran children’s fitness programs, was a personal trainer, and group fitness instructor.


Pat O'Connor

Pat is an athletic trainer and physical therapist with more than 20 years of experience working with athletes at various levels from recreational athletes to professional. He has been involved in cycling at a personal and professional level for the past 15 years.


Kathryn Parker, RD, LD

Kathryn is a nutrition and wellness counselor. She has a BS from UF in Health Science and an AS in Business Administration. She has been practicing as a private consultant for 20 years, and has been coordinating LifeQuest for the City of Gainesville for 16 years. She is part of the American, Florida and Gainesville District Dietetic Associations. Kathryn has also worked with the Reedy Creek Improvement District Fire Department and the Diabetes Center of Excellence. She has had numerous publications and speaking engagements.

Kathryn will be joining our Fitness Express, Medical Fitness and Sport Performance programs as a registered dietitian. She will be available on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month from 2-5pm for consultations and follow up appointments. She is doing counseling for general nutrition, weight loss and athletes.


Jeff Plasschaert, MS, CSCS

Jeff’s Shands Sports Blog

Jeff has over 7 years of experience in athletics and sports performance as an Exercise Physiologist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Jeff is also a USA Cycling Coach Level II and an USA Triathlon Coach. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1999 with a BS in Exercise and Sport Sciences as an Exercise Physiologist and received a Masters in Sport Management from the University of Florida in 2001. Jeff has competed in running, cycling and triathlon events for several years.


Susan Tillman, PT, SCS, CSCS

Susan is a board-certified specialist in sports physical therapy and a certified strength and conditioning specialist. She is a physical therapist for the University of Florida Athletic Association and has over 12 years experience in orthopaedic and sports rehabilitation.


Mike Wasik, M.Ed., ATC/L, CSCS, LMT

Michael has over 20 years of experience in athletics and sports performance as a Certified Athletic Trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He graduated from the University of Florida with a BS in Exercise and Sport Sciences and received a Masters of Education from Clemson University. Michael is the former Certified Athletic Trainer for the Clemson University Football and Soccer teams and the former Head Athletic Trainer for the University of Florida Spring Sports and Football programs. He is currently the Clinical Coordinator-Sport Performance for Shands Rehab Center where he has developed Shands Fitness Express, Get Fit for Sport and Prepare for a Safe Landing: An ACL Injury Prevention Program. Michael also has an FYSA D coaching license in soccer.
