Youth Strength Training
Summer Camps in session: June 16th - August 8th, 2008
The Youth Strength Training program will focus on instructing the child in proper resistance-training techniques, safety considerations when strength training, injury prevention and having fun. The program will be designed so that the workout fits the individual needs of each child and their lifting abilities. This well designed program will help increase their strength and endurance, enhance their motor fitness skills and sports performance, decrease the risk of injuries in sport, improve their psychosocial well-being and improve each childs overall health. All of these medically based training sessions will emphasize safe and effective exercises for maximal results and improved performance.
Through the use of MAXOUT equipment, developed by Michael Mac Millan, MD associate professor, UF Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, athletes are able to increase the intensity of their workouts while spending less time strength training. Each workout is designed to fit the individual needs of athletes and their lifting abilities.
The program can produce a proven 15 to 20 percent increase in strength results during a six-week session as well as enhance athletes motor fitness and sport performance skills.
